BETTER LIFE WITH REFUGEES
We welcome everybody with an open mind, loving attitude and willingness to help others, which is a similar ideology to us - Respect the planet and other people. We ask that you commit to at least one month, and you are welcome to stay for however long you wish.

COVID-19 regulations still influence our lives but we will gather more volunteers when possible. If you are already in Athens, Contact us.

In the future, volunteer housing will be supplied and you might be living with refugees. Better Life WITH Refugees means that everything we do, we do together, based on skills, wishes and needs. Country of origin doesn't matter.

Possible tasks for you
-
Teach any skill you think might be useful. You can do it at family homes (if they invite you), Center or nearby park. Let us know what you want to do and we will ask around and collect people who are interested. You will work with small groups, max 10.

Collect donations and spread the word from door to door. It can be visits to a local bakery to collect the products they can't sell, or meeting with a local furniture store manager (Start-up)

If you have a driver's license and have a permit to drive in Greece, you can help with deliveries (a few hours between 9am-11pm)

Cleaning the Center (and later volunteer housing)

Teach computer skills, English or Greek (basics or advanced)

Painting or renovating the apartments for families

Work at the community garden

Unofficial translations between Farsi, Arabic, English, Greek, ??

Native English speaker: Check the grammar in our publications

Help in workshops we already have

Sell our products at street markets or festivals

Childcare or teaching kids in family apartments (for this we need a copy of your criminal record including drugs, violence and sex)

Professionals Immigration lawyers, social workers, translators

You name it. It's up to you.
We are also a part of Social Garden Project (see videos), cultivating the land without harmful pesticides and fertilizers. This is an important part of our ideology, where building a self-sufficient community, based on volunteering, recycling and loving the environment is integral. Both for people and the planet.
